Grouptime events

We can see, hear, smell, and touch it...Spring is definitely in the air. How do you know Spring is here?? "I feel the rain"--Cameron "I see Easter eggs." --Keira "I hear bees...and birds" --Bela "I see and feel the flowers." --Sofia "I can wear shorts." --Connor "Trees are bonking my head" --Rylan. As the beautiful cherry blossom trees decorate our surroundings, we were inspired to dedicate our Friday Art to the Splendour of Spring. The children used the blowing technique to create the tree trunks and sponge dabbers for the cherry blossoms. The blowing part was a bit challenging for most children but they were eager to try and finish their work. Happy Spring everyone!

This activity is all about children my community service: the grocery store.  We played a song game "We are going to the Grocery store" where we pretended to be the shoppers and labelled the fruits and vegetables at the store. We talked about the different community helpers we may meet at the store like the grocers, stock people, cashiers, deli person and delivery people and the jobs they do to make sure that we, the shoppers, find all that we need. They were surprised to learn that there were that many community helpers in one place. We also read a book about sorting fruits and vegetables and the children worked on a Math activity showing their understanding of many vs. few. The children wondered about where all the food in the grocery store comes from. Children's question: Francine: Where do you get all the food? ( she meant where does the store get all the food?) Paxton: From the people who brings it over In our next grouptime we will investigate the c
